Tiger Roll goes for third National

Gordon Elliott is also targeting a record third Randox Health Grand National victory for Tiger Roll. Owner Michael O’Leary had intimated another crack at the National was not a if the handicapper was too unpleasant given, however Elliott has moved to quash that anxiety – before April about the cards using a light programme. Having emulated Red Rum by winning back renewals of this Aintree spectacular, Tiger Roll would be attempting to go far than arguably the National Hunt horse of all time. Elliott said:”It is fantastic to see him back, doing a little bit of work . He has had a wonderful few weeks of summer holidays. “He went back to (O’Leary’s) Gigginstown (House Stud) obviously. He was out there and had approximately 10 to 12 months out on grass. He’s done several parades and had, although he hasn’t had a saddle since the National and Aintree. “I have seen him a few times throughout the summertime at Gigginstown and that he had been great and strong, and I have seen him if he had been here for a while before he went to perform his apartment job and he looked good. “He will most likely do three or four weeks of apartment work until he comes back to us in the main yard here.” Having won the Boyne Hurdle along with the Cross Country race at the Cheltenham Festival last year, exactly the races are being targeted by Elliott . “Clearly he will not be busy this past year. We are going to have to head him now and select and choose where we go,” explained Elliott. “He will probably have a single run over conflicts, possibly something similar to the Boyne Hurdle (Navan, February) again. He’ll go back to Cheltenham (March) for the Cross Country race and then we’ll go for the Randox Health Grand National. “Keith (Donoghue) will ride him in Cheltenham in the Cross Country race and the Boyne Hurdle and then Davy Russell will ride in the National.” Elliott ruled out running him in the Gold Cup or even other such races. He added:”People tell me I must be entering him in Stayers’ Hurdles or Gold Cups, however I was always taught and I am a big believer in opting to the race that you believe that you can win at the Cheltenham Festival along with the race I believe I could win at the Cheltenham Festival is the Cross Country race, and so that’s where he’ll go. However, the number one goal this year will be the English National.” Elliott is the Tiger Roll is. He said:”You do not actually realise how much the horse meant to everyone. You see all the folks that reached the yard and of the kids. “You don’t really enjoy it when you are in the bubble . You don’t realise how much of something there is about this particular horse, you understand? It is just afterwards you see the movies and when you sit back and read all the paper clippings, people have really got to enjoy him. “You know, he has obtained a fantastic title, Tiger Roll, plus he has got a fantastic heart. He has won four Cheltenham Festivals and to win two Grand Nationals has been unbelievable. “Everybody who comes into the lawn, there is only one horse they would like to see and that’s Tiger Roll. He’s a man’s horse and we are blessed to have him. “Red Rum was ahead of my time, but you have seen the videos and discovered all about him. He was an incredible horse and to be in exactly the exact identical league as he’s incredible. “I feel the build up to the English National this season will be incredible. The hype – folks are talking about him . Whether he loses wins or draws, if he has back there to have a go in three in a row, it’s going to be great. The hype is going to be brilliant. “We were very, very satisfied with the horse (last year), he had been in good shape and we got him there in wonderful order. If we could get him next year there in half as a form he will have a huge chance. “He knows he’s great, he loves the attention. You just watch him walking round the parade ring before and after races and he knows he is Tiger Roll.” Read more: https://conservativewatchnews.org/nba/teams/new-york-knicks
