Naomi Osaka splits with coach Jermaine Jenkins

Two-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka has sacked her trainer in seven months, dividing with Jermaine Jenkins in the wake of her US Open title defence that was disappointing. A partner of Venus Williams, jenkins, replaced Sascha Bajin in February in the Australian Open after Osaka’s success. “I am super grateful for the time we spent together and the things I learned on and off the court but that I feel like now is a suitable time for change,” the Western 21-year-old wrote on Twitter. “Appreciate you, forever heated by you… Thank you for all, this was a blast” Seed former world No 1 Osaka, at Flushing Meadows struggled prior to being bothered from seed Belinda Bencic in straight sets at the fourth round.
