David Luiz: Arsenal defender can learn from mistakes, says Per Mertesacker

Former Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker considers David Luiz can”learn from his mistakes on the pitch”, but asserts the centre-back has been”comfy” at the Emirates Stadium, following his move from Chelsea. 32, the Brazilian global, in their 3-1 defeat in August to blame for two of Liverpool’s goals, conceded a penalty which Mohamed Salah scored. He pulled out of a challenge on Salah since he was on a card, which led to the Liverpool forward scoring a nice solo goal in the 58th minute in the game at Anfield. Mertesacker, who’s Arsenal’s academy manager, states:”I think that he (David Luiz) will learn from his errors around the pitch, but he is very comfortable being at Arsenal. “That’s what I’ve been seeing. So we are happy to get him. “He brings something different from the table at this time. I think he is able to learn and excel his degree of becoming an Arsenal player.” Adhering to the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham, Luiz confessed that for conceding two goals from their North London 29, the defenders of Arsenal needed to accept responsibility. The Chelsea defender has begun in three of Unai Emery’s side’s Premier League matches this effort. Arsenal have both scored and conceded six goals after two wins, 1 draw and one defeat in the opening four games of the Premier League year, leaving them fifth. Mertesacker believes the group’s formation and the part of three Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe requires more clarity when they are to give goals. He added:”I think we’ve got a lack of balance right now. Ok we’ve got strikers that are excellent, where you feel like but they also should understand that we will need to have a specific compactness. “It’s not only about us (direct ) strikers supplying an offensive threat. It’s roughly these front three as well, as being a defensive device, leading the frontline. “Therefore I think we need to be careful of that. However much striking electricity you have , you need to have a feeling of defensive compactness from everyone. “So it’s not just the back four that must be judged on the number of targets we concede.” Watch Watford vs Arsenal on September 15 dwell on Sky Sports Premier League from 4pm pm.
