Chris Froome wants to return to professional cycling in 2019 following horror crash in June

Team Ineos cyclist Chris Froome wants to return to action that is professional after his horrific crash in the Criterium du Dauphine at June, prior to the turn of the calendar year. Froome failed operation later losing four pints of blood vessels, in addition to suffering elbow, leg, a fractured vertebrae and ribs and has been rushed to hospital by helicopter. However, the four-time Tour de France champion is”on the path to healing” and hopes to return to competitive cycling before January. Froome told The Telegraph:”It’d be fine to be able to perform a few of these post-season events which I usually do at the off-season. “Only to get into the pro landscape again. It would great if I could do something before January. “I think so much of it goes back to fundamentals. I’m going to need to train harder than I have ever coached to get back there. “I am grateful to be alive. I am thankful to be on the path to recovery, I’m grateful that I am ready to recover. Now I will give it everything.” The 34-year-old admitted when he woke up at hospitalhe wanted to understand the size of his injuries so he could start plotting a return to get back on his bike. Froome explained:”I just wanted news on what the injuries were what they intended for me moving forward. I had been hoping with all my will that this wasn’t the end of my profession.” “When I was awakened the next morning after surgery, I meanI knew it was severe. I woke up in ICU, but I needed to know it was reparable, which I would have the ability to make a complete recovery. “And the doctor said within seconds. From there on, I accepted what happened and what was about going ahead.”??? Froome faced another setback if he had to get surgery to set the tendon in his left hand and badly cut on his thumb with a kitchen knife. He revealed he endured”no lasting damage” to the tendon and will now begin preparing to get a fifth Tour de France title next summer. Froome added:”As for your Tour, a fifth Tour title proved to be a huge deal on the planet. But going for a title was a career-ending crash, that would be even bigger. “You will find loads of folks who came out after the crash and said’He is completed.
